A SECOND INTAKE OF NURSING ASSISTANT COURSE GRADUATES AT RMH

After a successful graduation of 35 RDF personnel from different battalions last year another team of 39 trainees from different battalions graduate at RMH after 8 months training at Rwanda Military Hospital.
The nursing assistant course intends to raise the capacity of RDF personnel to provide emergency medical care during times of war as well as in time of peace.
The 39 RDF personnel from different battalions that underwent the course, were trained with full package of medical, trauma and first aid care during a period of 8 months and will be redeployed in different battalions to apply skills gained in support of RDF medical services provided in different formations as well as for civilians in outreach activities; the course is also an important package to use during peacekeeping operations.
The participants learned medical techniques used in usual medical services but also learned extra techniques that can be used in combat zones.
Speaking to the graduates Col Dr Eugene Ngoga, Clinical service chief at RMH who officiated the ceremony said it is a great opportunity to learn techniques used in modern medicine combined with tactical combat techniques as it will serve in times of war ad in times of peace.
This course will continue with a new intake with the aim of raising sustainable RDF medical capabilities.
