For 7 days from 12th to 19th October 2018, a team from Strasbourg- France visited RMH and together with RMH team they performed Alterio-Venous Fistula surgery for chronic hemodialysis to over 25 patients who were in need of the service.

A team from France was composed of 1 Vascular surgeon,1 anesthesiologist,3 nephrologists and 1 theatre nurse, they worked with their counterpart from RMH and offered excellent services to the patients.

They also put in place long term hemodialysis catheters to patients who are undergoing dialysis to ease their dialysis services, they also trained staffs to continue offering services such as putting those long term catheters and using echo guided localization needles.

The team is expected to be coming back each year until local capacity is built for RMH team to offer such services on a daily basis.
