On 23rd May 2018, the new US ambassador to Rwanda HE Peter H Vrooman paid a visit to Rwanda Military Hospital.
This visit was intended to meet the hospital management and get familiarized with activities going on in the hospital and in RDF medical services with the US partnership.
Received by the RMH commandant Col Dr JP Bitega, the ambassador was presented of the progress and achievements in healthcare provision achieved with the support of US through its DOD.

Achievements included voluntary medical male circumcision center as one way in HIV prevention, and the medical modeling and simulation center donated by the US and used to train medical personnel.
The ambassador said he is very happy with all these achievements he has witnessed and looks forward to a continued partnership.
