US DOD THROUH JHPIEGO DONATES AMODERN INCINERATOR TO RMH

Rwanda Military Hospital has acquired a new incinerator machine for burning infectious dry wastes.

The machine donated by JHPIEGO an International nonprofit health organization supported by US Department of Defense (DOD) in Rwanda has capacity to burn 750 Kg of wastes per day. It will also help other Hospitals in the country for burning medical residues and wastes which could be dangerous for human health and pollute the environment.

The incinerator was inaugurated on Thursday, 25 February 2016 at Rwanda Military by authorities of the hospital led by Brig. Gen Dr. Emmanuel Ndahiro together with Dr Leslie Mancuso President and CEO of JHPIEGO with Maj Okemu Heather representing DOD. Both Rwanda Military Hospital and Partners were very happy for strong partnership built since 2009.

Dr Leslie Mancuso explained that they support the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision HIV prevention program at RMH where they have built capacity of the staff including Doctors and Nurses and also helped in building facilities. "It's a wonderful partnership, we opt to work with them for long time" she expressed.

The Commandant of RMH, Brig. Gen Dr. Emmanuel Ndahiro hailed the good cooperation and said the Hospital is looking forward to build sustainable partnerships as it is expanding its health services to Rwandan citizen.
