On 13 Nov 2015, at RMH a team of Gynecologists in collaboration with RMH cardiologist delivered

 a baby whose mother had serious heart condition.The patient Uwizeyimana Regine, 26 year old was diagnosed with Mitral stenosis and was operated by a team of cardiologists from US in 2012 but later on her heart condition worsened and it was very hard for her to have a baby due to that condition.

When she reported at RMH pregnant, doctors agreed to follow her up closely until the baby is born she would report at RMH in consultation every week, RMH gynecologists together with RMH cardiologists  followed her up every week until 40 weeks of pregnancy when she was scheduled for a caesarean and delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 2,5kg. Doctors at RMH feel very proud for this successful operation "It was very hard but we are happy that finally this woman was able to have her baby as it was her first born" says Dr.Ganza JMV,

A team of cardiologists from team heart who performed surgery on this patient in 2012 and was informed about the status of the patient when she was pregnant sent a message to RMH commandant congratulating RMH team for their excellent work "Thank you to the RMH team who carefully nurtured our mutual patient Uwizeyimana Regine through this very difficult pregnancy..in a model that is extraordinary care ...." conveyed Ceeya Patton Bolman, Co-Founder, Team Heart, Inc. 

As both baby and mother did not have any problem and did not need further follow up, The patient was discharged from RMH on 15 Nov 2015.
