For 2 weeks now genocide survivors have been receiving surgery at RMH and in their district.

Around 105 Genocide survivors have benefited from this activity that took place at RMH and at Gitwe hospital. The Genocide survivors that benefitted from this activity are those that were consulted during army week activity that was held in Ruhango district in March 2015 where they were found to need more investigations and surgery.

Many people who benefitted from this activity are those with fractures, scars and other wounds inflicted during Genocide and other problems resulting from genocide wounds.

Medical Army week for Genocide survivors is an initiative of Rwanda Defense Force in partnership with fund for Genocide survivors (FARG) to help to improve the health of genocide survivors by treating wounds and other diseases from Genocide. From 2012 when this activity was launched around 35,000 genocide survivor's health has been improved or cured completely.
